When Easy Co, 506th PIR landed in Normandy on June 6th their first task was to destroy the canons near a farm called Brécourt Manor. Lieutenant Winters lead the attack and successfully captured and destroyed these canons. He was awarded the distinguished service cross. This event was shown in Band of Brothers’ Day of Days.
During my trip in Normandy I visited the site and made some pictures.

Nowadays, the place is quiet and peaceful and hopefully will never see war again. The only thing that reminds us of what happened back there is the monument dedicated to Easy Company. On the monument there’s the list of names of Easy Company soldier that died in that area during the invasion of Normandy
