Day 3, June 6th 2015!

Today I went to Arromanches for the first time! Such a very interesting day meeting WW2 Veteran from one of the Royal Artillery units that landed on Gold Beach: Bill Glover. The Princes Irene Brigade who landed there on June 6th was also at the ceremonies! I actually started to get really interested in them and their actions on D-Day.

After that we went to the museum in Bayeux, which was actually quite a bummer; an overload of information and not many items. We drove back to Omaha Beach to have a coffee at the shore, which was filled with body’s of U.S. Troops. There we also met Joris from War History Online! I met him back in December during the No Victory In Valhalla Tour with Ian Gardner and Reg Jansen!

Time flies when you’re having fun, so just before having dinner we drove past a place called Angoville au plain. It served as Dropzone D for the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment!

    Hi! Sounds like you had a great time. We are now iat Utah staying in La Madeleine in a B&B. We did the DDay experience today…so cool.
    Did you also do a jeep ride here? How did you know about Band of Brothers Cast at Utah? Will that be possible again? Thank you for sharing everything about your Normandy adventure! Enjoyed reading and if you have any more tips for us….there are very welcome!

      Thanks for your message 🙂 We didn’t do a jeep drive, but I think it would be a great experience. Did you visit Pointe du Hoc? It’s a very interesting place to visit with a lot of history 🙂

      I found out about the BoB Cast meeting because they were having a reunion during the 70th anniversary. There was an open meeting on sunday
